Miss Rogers is bride of Travis W. Gossett

MRS. TRAVIS WILLIAM GOSSETT (THE FORMER APRIL LEANNE ROGERS) April Leanne Rogers of Boiling Springs and Travis William Gossett of Gaffney were married on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at East Gaffney Baptist Church. The Rev. Ron Jackson performed the double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. A reception, given by the bride’s parents, followed at the church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Rogers of Gaffney and granddaughter of Louise Melton and Lorene Denton, both of Gaffney. A 1998 graduate of Gaffney High School, she graduated from Spartanburg Technical College and is employed as a nurse at Woman’s Clinic, PA.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gossett of Gaffney and grandson of Sue Cobb and Johnnie Gossett, both of Gaffney. He graduated from Gaffney High School in 1994 and is employed by Timber Ridge Graphic Printing.

Mr. and Mrs. Gossett are making their home in Boiling Springs after a wedding trip to Kiawah Island.

Susan Harris, pianist, played the piano for the vocalist, Jennifer Robbins, who sang “There Is Love” and “At Last.” Robin Price, harpist, and Roy Price, violinist, performed “Hymne” for the seating of the grandparents; “Ariso” for the seating of the mothers; “Canon in D” for the attendants’ processional; “Bridal Chorus” for the bridal processional; and “Trumpet Tune” for the recessional.

The church was adorned with a profusion of ficus trees, palms trees and ferns. Three candelabra, assorted greenery and ivory organza complemented the setting.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in an ivory strapless A-line satin gown overlaid with organza. The bodice and hemline were embellished with lace appliques, beading and silver accents and the skirt swept into a chapel train. Her headpiece was an ivory singlelayer fingertip veil and she carried a bouquet of ivory snapdragons and freesia.

Julie R. Vinesett of Gaffney, sister of the bride, and Jill H. Chapman of Clemson were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Rogers, sister of the bride, Heather Gossett, sister of the groom, both of Gaffney, Dana Brantley, sister of the groom, and Alexis Montgomery, both of Spartanburg.

The attendants were attired in knee-length honeydew-colored dresses featuring square necklines. Blossom-colored satin ribbon circled the waistlines. Their flowers were handtied Gerbera daisies.

Kerstin Adair Rogers, niece of the bride, of Gaffney was flower girl and ring bearers were the groom’s nephews, Robert Brantley Jr. of Spartanburg and Conner James Gossett of Gaffney.

The groom was attended by his father as best man. Groomsmen were Shane Harris, Michael Robertson, Brad Humphrey, Justin Ellis, all of Gaffney, and Bob Brantley, brother in-law of the groom, of Spartanburg.

The guest register was attended by Michelle Cooper of Boiling Springs.

Prior to the wedding the couple was honored with several showers and parties.

A bridal shower was given by Woman’s Clinic, PA. Julie Vinesett and Jill Chapman were also hostesses for a shower and the ladies of East Gaffney Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist were hostesses for showers.

A lawn and garden shower was given by Dana Brantley and Heather Gossett.
