ARGO, Ala. – Maria Anna Adamietz Jones, 80, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005.

Maria was the loving wife of Major Lindbergh Jones from 1181 Blackjack Road, her cherished Windy Hill in Alabama.

Born in Poland and naturalized as a United States citizen, together with her Soldier Lindbergh, she saw the sights of four continents, sailed two oceans, flew the skies of the globe, mentored hundreds of other people on being a citizen of the United States of America and helped heal the spirits of thousands as an inspiring volunteer at many hospitals.

She was a devoted mother to her children and raised them to be strong citizens of her beloved United States of America. She taught them all to serve other with humility by her strong personal example of selfless service as an Army wife and a community volunteer wherever she lived. She loved the United States with a fervor that inspired her children and grandchildren to served in the Armed Forces, defending the Constitution that she adopted as her own. One son is a career Army officer of 35 years; another served as a Military Policeman for three years. Three of her grandsons are Army Infantry officers, one of her granddaughters is a medical doctor in the Army married to an Infantry officer, another granddaughter served five years in the Navy and another grandson is currently a cadet at West Point, N.Y. Within this group of Maria's soldiers, there is a total of over seven and a half years spent in combat for her United States. Maria was a grandmother extraordinaire to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to six. She taught us how to live in dignity and grace and will be remembered forever.
