Pro Se divorce clinic scheduled The South Carolina Centers for Equal Justice will hold a Pro Se Divorce Clinic on Thursday, Aug. 4, in the Family Courtroom, County Courthouse. The clinic will start promptly at 2 p.m. and last approximately two hours. This will be an instructional clinic conducted by attorneys, geared toward assisting persons who have been separated for over one year, who have no minor children, who have no property to divide, who do not want alimony and who are seeking a divorce on the grounds of a one-year continuous separation only. You must know where your spouse resides in order to participate in this clinic. In order to qualify for this assistance, the person’s spouse must not be incarcerated and the person’s spouse must live in Cherokee County or the parties must have lived in Cherokee County the last time they lived together. Also, the wife must not have given birth to any children during the marriage, either by the husband or anyone else, who are currently under the age of 18. |
