School events

¦ Limestone Central Ele-mentary will hold open house on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 57 p.m. During the drop, par-ents can meet their child’s teacher, see the classroom and receive forms to fill out. Parents are asked to complete these forms and pay a $5 activity fee.

Church events

¦ God’s Work in Progress and Ms. Jolley will sponsor a Christian Skate Night on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $4. Free school supplies will be given away while they last.

Meetings

¦ Blacksburg Business Association will meet Thurs-day, Aug. 11, at 5:45 p.m. at the Blacksburg Public Library. The public is invited to attend to help plan the April 1, 2006, Iron City Festival.

Fund raisers

¦ The ladies of TLC of First Baptist Church are sponsor-ing a luncheon Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Life Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $7. Homemade chicken salad and desserts are featured on the menu. Eat in or take out. Call the church office, 489-6064, to reserve a ticket.
