¦ Riverbend Golf Club in Shelby will host Habitat for Humanity of Cherokee County charity golf tournament on Friday, Sept 16, at 2 p.m. There will be a shotgun start, with four person captain’s choice. The entry fee is $60 per person. There will be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and more.

¦ Limestone sophomore Brent Clausing finished 23rd out of 138 of 28:33.12 at the 5.1-mile Eye Opener Invitational Saturday. It took former Blacksburg standout Kyle Shy just 31 minutes to finish the race.

In the girls’ competition, Limestone’s Alx Bonn placed 39th with a time of 21:48.65.

¦ In soccer action, Ashley Vaughan scored on a assist from Rachel Moore late in the first half to lift the Limestone women’s team to a 1-0 win over Lander Saturday. Limestone goalkeeper Liz Eichhorn had six saves. In scored the only goal in Lander’s 1-0 win over the Saints.
