Likes site near county administration building for Michael Gaffney’s cabin

Dear Editor:

I have been reading, what seems like for months, the opinions on what would be the best site for the Michael Gaffney cabin.

Both options suggested so far seem to be reasonable. However, I would agree that the corner of Limestone Street adjacent to the administration building would be the most secure location.

Anyway, I was reminded of a small town that I have visited several times in the last 10 years and a replica of the cabin of its founding father. It is known as the John Neely Bryan Cabin and is located in what is now considered the Historical Area of Downtown Dallas, Texas. Oddly enough, it seems to fit right in. (See photo at right.)
