WHAT’S UP Fund raisers ¦ The Gaffney High School Band of Gold, in conjunction with John Boy and Billy’s award-winning barbecue, will hold a fund raiser Saturday, Sept. 24. Pick-up plates will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1600 W. Floyd Baker Blvd. Plates are $8 each and include barbecue, slaw, baked beans and drink. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the band, at home football games and at Palmetto Bank, 311 S. Limestone St., (see Beverly Norton). All proceeds will go to support the band. Featured singers and their performance times are: Glory to Him, 11 a.m.; Mikes Creek Baptist Church, noon; Unity of Heart, 1 p.m.; Bridges Family, 2 p.m.; Sister Anne Rogers, 3 p.m.; The Hampton Family, 4 p.m.; The Phillips Family, 5 p.m.; The Lost and the Found, 6 p.m.; Saved by the Blood, 7 p.m.; and New Creations, 8 p.m. Bring clothes and a love offering.
