Dwayne Fowler (left), Mike Pearson, Donnie Crowe, Jeanne Hames and Jeff Robertson (back) check out their new mobile office unit, which was delivered Thursday to the Cherokee County Consolidated Animal Shelter in Gaffney. All are Cherokee County Code Enforcement Department officers except Hames, who works in the office, and Fowler who works for the City of Gaffney Code Enforcement Department. The Cherokee County Consolidated Animal Shelter had two new welcome additions recently.

On Thursday, a mobile office unit was delivered to 300 Yale St. in Gaffney.

The unit contains three office spaces and a break area for code enforcement officers.

The $13,000 building will also feature a covered front porch which will be handicappedaccessible.

“The office we had was too small for four people and the county was kind enough to buy us a mobile unit, which is very much appreciated,” said Sgt. Jeff Robertson of the Cherokee County Code Enforcement Division.

The code enforcement officers received help from the Cherokee County Roads and Bridges Department. Supervisors James Blanton and Richard “Putt” Putnam logged numerous off-duty hours to help prepare the site for the mobile unit by digging footers and pouring concrete.

The code enforcement officers recently welcomed new officer Mike Pearson to their staff.

Pearson has previously worked for three years at the Cherokee County Detention Center and has also worked for MC Communication installing cable.

He replaces Ken Ettlemyer, who recently retired.
