The Blacksburg High School drama class will see "The Toys Take Over Christmas" when they present the popular Christmas play to elementary students and the community.

The play will be performed for Blacksburg Primary and Blacksburg Elementary students on Tuesday, Dec. 6, and Thursday, Dec. 8. The play will be presented for the public on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the BHS auditorium.

Prelude music will be provided by the chorus and handbell classes.

The play depicts two evil toymakers, portrayed by Matt Cash and Mikey Reed, who make their dolls come to life using "magic doll dust."

The BHS students in the play all portray subservient dolls to the evil toymakers, except for the two defiant little rag dolls, played by Rebekah Duncan and Rebekah Rowe, who stir things up quite a bit in the toy shop.

Other cast members are Amber Powell, Tiffany Norman, Daniel Powell, Heather Eaker, Michelle Tessner, Angel Francisco, Elizabeh Cox, Lindsey Allison, Matt Cash, Mikey Reed, Tommy Dover, Patterson Delok and Savannah Roberts and Brooke Spencer. At the end of the show, Santa, portrayed by Daniel Powell, arrives on the scene.

Travis Hedgepath is the stage manager for the play and Lynn Sisk is the director.
