Michelle Whelchel and Adam Gordon BLACKSBURG – Paul and Bebe Whelchel of 331 Parker Road announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennie Elizabeth Michelle, to Joshua Adam Gordon, son of Scott and Linda Gordon of Blacksburg.

Miss Whelchel is the granddaughter of Jennie Mae Parker of Blacksburg and the late Bill Parker Sr. and the late Basil Whelchel Sr. and the late Elizabeth Whelchel Childers. Her paternal stepgrandfather is the late Delmus Childers. A 2003 graduate of Blacksburg High School, she attends Limestone College and expects to receive a B.A. degree in psychology in May 2007.

Mr. Gordon is the grandson of Margaret Hampton of Blacksburg, Lillian Gordon of Gaffney, the late Jack Hampton and the late Floyd Gordon Sr. He graduated in 2000 from Blacksburg High School and in 2004 from Francis Marion University with a B.S. degree in mathematics. He attends Piedmont Technical College Funeral Services Program and will graduate in July 2006. He is employed by Gordon Mortuary in Blacksburg.

The couple own and operate The Flower Garden in Blacksburg.

A March 11, 2006, wedding is planned at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
