Miss Cathcart, Mr. Gossett wed Aug. 13
MR. AND MRS. JONATHAN DAVID GOSSETT Mindy Rebekah Cathcart and Jonathan David Gossett exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Abner Creek Baptist Church in Greer. The Rev. Jim McClure officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony and a reception, given by the bride's family, followed in the fellowship building.
Beverly Hodge, pianist, performed "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "You Are" and "There You Are" during the ceremony. Jerry Kennett performed "Only Yesterday."
Candelabras were displayed in the front of the sanctuar, along with the unity candle and floral arrangements of red and yellow roses and white daisies. Candles enhanced with greenery were placed in the windows and special floral arrangements in honor of family members were placed in the foyer.
Given in marriage by her father, Michael Cathcart Sr., the bride was attired in a halter gown enhanced with beaded pearl applique embroidery along the bodice. The A-line skirt, also embroidered with pearl appliques and a delicate lace hem, extended to a cathedral train. Her fingertip veil of white tulle was scattered with tiny pearls. She carried a bouquet of red roses with yellow roses and miniature daisies scattered throughout.
Jennifer Seay of Roebuck attended her cousin as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dawn Perkins of Duncan, sister of the groom, Mandy Cathcart of Roebuck, sisterin law of the bride, and Ashley Hamrick of Boiling Springs, cousin of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Olivia Morris of Inman, cousin of the bride.
The attendants were attired in floor-length apple red dresses, each of a slightly different design to suit each bridesmaid. Each carried a with yellow bows. The maid of honor carried a nosegay of yellow roses and a white bow. Lillie Perkins of Duncan, niece of wore a sleeveless white satin A-line dress with beaded floral appliques along the bodice. Tiny jeweled daisy clips adorned her hair,
Avery Perkins of Duncan, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
The groom was attended by his father, Gene Gossett, as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Perkins of Duncan, brother-in-law of the groom, Michael Cathcart Jr. of Roebuck, brother of the bride, and Roger Griffin of Greenshorough, N.C., uncle of the groom. The junior groomsman was Nelson Irving of Gaffney, cousin of the groom. Matthew Carroll and Mark Carroll of Union, cousins of the bride, were ushers.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael D. Cathcart Sr. of Moore. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Dean M. Cathcart of Moore, Gladys Quinn of Chesnee, and the late Weldon E. Quinn.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gossett of Gaffney. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Parker of Gaffney. He is also the grandson of the late Jesse Gossett and Mr. and Mrs. Coley Childers.
The bride graduated from Westgate Christian School in 1998 and is a graduate of USC Upstate with a B.A. degree in English. She is employed by Dave Edwards Toyota of Spartanburg.
The groom graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1999 and received a degree in computer technoloy from Spartanburg Technical College. He is employed by Bellsouth.
Mr. and Mrs. Gossett spent their honeymoon in Charleston and Gatlinburg. They reside in Roebuck.

A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents.
The bride was honored with a bridal brunch and numerous showers.
The groom was honored with a tool and garden shower, given by Covenant Christian Church of God.
