Christmas Is For Kids donations running well behind last year’s totals

The Ledger’s annual Christmas Is For Kids shopping day is this Saturday and as of today you have donated enough money for 48 children to participate. They’ll meet at Wal-Mart bright and early where they’ll get to purchase up to $100 in toys and clothing. That’s wonderful, but what about the others on our list (more than 100) who won’t get to come?

Donations are running way behind last year’s and understandably so in light of the disaster relief efforts that have been ongoing this year. But the children of Cherokee County who will not have any presents under the tree this year at Christmas won’t understand.

Please help us help those less fortunate among us and make a donation today. Every dollar helps. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
