ENGAGEMENT

Michael Damon Howard and Rachel Lauren Burns Rachel Lauren Burns and Michael Damon Howard, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., will be married June 1, 2006, in the Shakespeare Garden on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus.

Miss Burns is the daughter of Randy and Donna Hough Burns of Chattanooga, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Frank and Ila Burns of Chattanooga, Betty A. Hough of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Joe W. Hough of Gaffney. She received a B.A. degree cum laude in Music, Vocal Performance, and a M.A. in English Literature from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority.

The bride-elect is employed as a grants specialist with the City of Chattanooga’s Neighborhood Services Department.

Mr. Howard is the son of the late Paris and Sandie Hudnall Howard. He is the grandson of the late James Edward and Jewel Mae Hudnall and the late A.A. and Bessie Mae Howard. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and is employed as an audio technician with Sears Product Repair Services.
