Support groups

¦ AA meetings are held in Gaffney on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights at 8 p.m. on Carlisle Street in the building behind Limestone Methodist Church. If you have a problem with alcohol, you are welcome to attend these meetings.

¦ Think you have a problem with drugs? Narcotics Anonymous 1-800-828-5689. Tuesday and Saturday at 6 p.m., St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Church events

¦ Shalom Christian Fellowship will have its regular morning worship service Sunday, Jan. 1, beginning at 10:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday School classes that day. The church will worship with Harbor of Hope on Monday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to join the services.

¦ Southside Baptist Church will have its New Year’s Day worship at 10:30 a.m., preceded by Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. All other services and programs will be cancelled that day. Southside is located at 204 W. O’Neal St. For more information, call 489-6504 or visit gaffneysouthside.com.

¦ There will be a special service at New Harvest Ministries, 215 Pecan St., Dec. 29 and 30. Missionary/evangelist Mike Brown of Keavy, Ky., will be ministering at 7 p.m. Everyone welcome.
