Upstate Carolina offers three diabetes events in May

Upstate Carolina Medical Center will host three diabetes events in May.

There will be two classes open to the public: Survival Skills of Diabetes Manage-ment and Beyond the Basics. Both classes will be offered on Wednesday, May 4, and Wednesday, May 18.

The Skills class will be 9-10:30 a.m. and the Basics class will be 12:45-noon on both days. These classes meet regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the hospital’s Private Dining Room.

The Cherokee County Diabetes Support Group will meet on Monday, May 2, at 6 p.m. in the hospital’s cafeteria. The featured topic will be diabetic foot care. Also, Medi-Home Care will be at the meeting to showcase a variety of diabetic shoes.

Anyone with diabetes or anyone who cares for someone with diabetes is invited to attend these classes and this support group. Please register in advance by calling Kelly Morris at 487-1652.
