Narcotics agents arrested a Blacksburg man after he allegedly dropped a bag of cocaine on the floor of the Cherokee County Courthouse.

Agent Mike Gibson of the Cherokee County Metro Narcotics Unit has charged Jeremy Wayne Teague, 18, of 245 Brugg St., with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school.

Teague was emptying his pockets before passing through a metal detector at the entrance to the courthouse at 125 E. Floyd Baker Blvd. in Gaffney when the small bag of cocaine fell onto the floor, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office states.

The incident occurred at 2:10 p.m. Monday while school was in session at The Village School of Gaffney, which is located across the street from the courthouse, police said.
