LC wrestlers fall to Cumberland

By LARRY HILLIARD Ledger Sports Editor larry@gaffneyledger.com

Limestone wrestling coach Ben Stehura is seeing improvement in his team.

“The guys wrestled hard. I think we definitely pushed Cumberland very hard every match,” said Stehura after the Saints’ 23-14 home loss to Cumberland.

Saint freshman Trey Moss pulled off the biggest upset of the match with a 7-3 win over Steven Westbeld in the heavyweight division.

Limestone’s Joey Federspiel beat Ben Watson 5-3 in a 149 lb. matchup. At 157 lbs., the Saints’ Dustin Baynes topped Daniel Rosebottom 12-7.

Limestone’s Brent Clausing posted a forfeit victory at 125 lbs.

“I really feel like we are peaking towards regionals and nationals,” Stehura said.

The Saints return to the mat Sunday at the Carson Newman tournament.
