Littlejohn runs for House Representative Lanny F. Littlejohn, who has served Spartanburg and Cherokee counties in the Statehouse since 1989, announced today he will seek re-election this year. “I am humbled that the people of District 33 have elected me to be their representative nine times,” Littlejohn said, “I love serving my constituents in Columbia, and I want to continue doing their work in the State House.” Littlejohn is an influential leader of the House Ways and Means Committee, the group responsible for writing the state’s budget. He is also one of the longest-serving members of the General Assembly. “Lanny is a true conservative and always plays an important role in the Republican majority,” said Majority Leader Jim Merrill of Daniel Island. “He works hard and few members represent their constitents better than Lanny.” In addition to his service in Columbia, Littlejohn, now fully retired, gives back to his community in many ways. He has worked hard for the cities of Cowpens, Pacolet, and the Goucher communities in securing water grants and monies for local needs. District 33 includes the Eastern part of Spartanburg and west Cherokee counties as well as Ben Avon, Glendale, Clifton, Pauline, and Whitestone. |
