Man charged with assault

WALLACE LEE HOLLIS A Gaffney man was denied bond after he was apprehended Friday.

Detective Billy Odom Jr. of the Gaffney Police Department has charged Wallace Lee Hollis, 26, with 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct. Hollis also faces a probation violation.

Police said Hollis came to a woman’s home in Gaffney to retrieve clothing and when she let the man inside her home, he attempted to pull her pants down. The woman was holding her child in one arm and trying to keep Hollis from pulling down her pants with the other, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. The woman continued to struggle with Hollis as he tried to assault her, according to the report.
