Drug arrests made after raids in Gaffney, Blacksburg Narcotics agents arrested two Blacksburg men after finding crack cocaine during a raid Wednesday. Agent Al Phillips of the Cherokee County Metro Narcotics Unit has charged Tyrone Lamont Parker, 30, of 168 Bolin Road, Blacksburg, and Christopher O’Brian Parker, 19, of 103 S. Mountain St., Blacksburg, each with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a half mile of a public park. When agents arrived at 305 E. Lime St. at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Blacksburg, the Parkers were located in a screened-in front porch with less than an ounce of crack cocaine. The home is located within a half mile of the Blacksburg youth baseball park in the 300 block of East Lime Street. Narcotics officers also seized less than five grams each of crack cocaine and marijuana when they executed a search warrant at a home at 103 Gertrude St., Gaffney, just off 5th Street, a report at the sheriff’s office states. Agent Christy Poole of the narcotics unit has charged Jhanta Domario Wilkins, 24, of the residence with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana. The search warrant was served at 8:20 a.m. Friday, police said. Nearly two pounds of marijuana and 30 Lortabs were seized following a separate drug raid. Agent Mike Gibson of the narcotics unit has charged Lynn Major Hansen Jr., 18, of 451 Garvin Lake Road, Gaffney, with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Gibson also charged Dewayne Whelchel Jr., 21, of 821 Brickhouse Road, Gaffney, with possession with intent to distribute Lortabs and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Narcotics agents seized the drugs at 1 p.m. Wednesday at a trailer park on Garvin Lake Road, according to another report at the sheriff’s office. Whelchel was arrested an hour later when he arrived at the house with the Lortabs, police said. In a separate drug arrest, agents seized less than two ounces of methamphetamine following a traffic stop executed by the S.C. Highway Patrol on Saturday, another report at the sheriff’s office states. Poole has charged Garland Brown Mize, 44, of 484 Sand Clay Road, Chesnee, with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Poole also charged a Gaffney man after he ran from Gaffney police. Terrance Demond Bridges, 26, of 128 Providence Creek Road, Gaffney, is charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Bridges was found with less than five grams of crack cocaine in his possession when he was apprehended at Kendrick and Kelly streets at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, another report states. Bridges ran from police after being questioned by an officer on patrol about what he was holding in his hand, according to a report filed at the Gaffney Police Department. |
