U.S. Army veteran

SANFORD, N.C. – George Edward Higgins, 75, of 2655 Henley Road, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Higgins was born in

Wake County, N.C.,

and was the son of

the late George Higgins and Lila Dobbins Higgins. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Shoudt Higgins of the home; a daughter, Gwen Hill Higgins of Pittsboro, N.C.; and a brother, Tom Higgins and wife, Alice, of Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Keith Miller. The family will receive friends following the service.
