Nellie G. Corry

Nellie Gaston Corry, 77, of 523 W. Montgomery St., Apt. 27, widow of Hampton J. Corry, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at 8:18 p.m. in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Daughter of the late Rev. Arthur T. Gaston and the late Fennie A. Gaston, she was a native of Gaffney and member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Gospel Choir and Mixed Choir and secretary of the Vinnie Byers Missionary Circle. She was a member and treasurer of The A&B Society and attended public schools in Gaffney. She was secretary of the Granard High School Mass Reunion Committee and retired two years ago after working many years as a domestic engineer.

Surviving are a son, Roger S. Gaston Sr. of Waterbury, Conn.; a daughter, Beverly Corry, MD, of Gaffney; a sister, Etheleen G. Falls of Chesapeake, Va.; a nephew who was reared as a brother, Willie Sullivan of Capitol Heights, Md.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Beverly Corry, 1621 W. Buford St.
