Second-half flurry dooms Saints
Pat Beall and his Limestone teammates suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday to LeMoyne. The second half belonged to the No. 1-ranked LeMoyne Dolphins.
In a battle of traditional lacrosse powers, the Dolphins rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to beat the No. 4-ranked Limestone Saints, 13-4, on Saturday.
After Brad Patridge scored on an assist from Sean Flynn to put the Saints on top 3-2 early in the third quarter, it was all Dolphins.
Jason Longo tied the game a minute later before Nate Evans scored the go-ahead goal for LeMoyne with 7:42 left in the third quarter.
Longo and Tyler Hill had consecutive goals to put the Dolphins on top, 6-3. Limestone’s Harley Beekman trimmed the deficit to 6-4, but Brian Welch and Matt Cassalia regained the momentum with a pair of goals in the waning moments of the quarter.
LeMoyne’s Mike McDonald scored with seven minutes left in the game when the Limestone goalkeeper was out of the crease.
Brian Cost, Travis Tarr, Ed Street and Andrew Carducci capped the scoring for the Dolphins.
