Gary W. Goode

Dirt track racing fan

Gary Wayne Goode, 39, of 157 Sparks Road, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Cowpens.

A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Crystal Case Goode and son of Mildred Gilbert Goode of Cowpens and the late Dewey Goode Jr. He was a millwright and was formerly employed by Clarkson Industrial Contractors. He loved dirt track racing and was a member of High Point Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, Garret Lane Goode of the home; sister, Norma Jean Blackwell Barrera of Cowpens; a brother, Kenneth Blackwell of Cowpens; five nieces and two nephews.

In addition to his father, Mr. Goode was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Lynn Blackwell.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at High Point Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Phillips. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home Downtown and at other times they will be at the home of his mother, Mildred Goode, 3921 Old Georgia Hwy.
