2006-03-22 / Local News
Gaffney City Council learned Monday that its coffers will be a little deeper.
Gaffney Administrator James Taylor said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will reimburse the city the maximum 75 percent of the expenses incurred during December's ice storm.
"FEMA approved the entire amount of eligible expenses," Taylor said. "(FEMA) said the paperwork from Gaffney was very good."
The city spent $155,378, including administrative costs, on storm cleanup, Taylor said. The city will receive $117,540 the maximum allowed by FEMA.
"The check's in the mail," Taylor told council members.
