Children's Home auction brings in about $30,000

2006-03-31 / Letters

Dear Cody:

On behalf of the Auction Committee of the Cherokee Children's Home I want to thank you for your very generous donation to our auction. The full-page black and white ad (valued at $1,100) was a very popular item. We do not have all of the information yet, but we think we brought in around $30,000. This is due to the wonderful support of friends like you.

I thought you might be interested to know that since opening in 1989, we have served as a safe haven to more than 1,380 children in need of our services. The children we serve are abused, abandoned and/or neglected and are in the care of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. While with us, children receive on-site counseling and participate in activities to build self-esteem.

Again, thank you for your generous contribution. It is because of friends like you that we are able to continue offering quality care to approximately 100 children each year.

Sincerely, Judith Nix, Director of Development
