Children's Home auction and dinner a big success
A large crowd was on hand at the 16th annual dinner and auction to benefit the Cherokee Children's Home. The Cherokee Children's Home sponsored its 16th annual dinner and auction last Friday evening with a large crowd on hand for the festivities. The event is the Children's Home largest fund raiser each year.
"The auction was very well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy the auction and the delicious food that was prepared by the local Knights of Columbus," said Judy Nix, the home's director of development. "Desserts secured by Katie Baines and coffee furnished by Starbucks made the evening complete."
"All of the figures are not in yet, but it looks like we are very close to our goal of $30,000," Nix said. "Once again the people of Cherokee County came through for us."
Karen Lydon served as chairperson for the auction.
Judy Nix and Karen Lydon present a plaque to John Conti of Upstate Carolina Medical Center for the hospital's support of the auction. Also receiving a plaque was the Cherokee Civic Club that has been a generous and loyal supporter of the auction for several years. |
