     MAN INJURED - Jerry Edward Martin, 33, of Lime Street in Blacksburg, was flown by Regional One to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after his 4-wheeler overturned Thursday along Lime Street. The Blacksburg police and fire departments responded along with medics from Emergency Medical Services at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

     A WELL-GUARDED CAR - Greg Biffle's No. 16 Nextel Cup NASCAR race car took a brief pit stop at the Gaffney National Guard barracks Friday afternoon. Ricky Dixon of Charlotte, who is transporting the vehicle to Panama City, Fla., for the National Guard Bureau in Washington D.C., is a member of the National Guard Unit based in Gaffney. Dixon (second from left) poses with National Guard Sgts. Donald Joslyn, Charlie Dubose and Ronnie Howell. "I wanted to promote the Guard and let everyone know it's OK to put on this uniform. It's been an exciting adventure," Dixon said about his year-long stint transporting the 820-horsepower race car, which can reach speeds of 220 mph.
