Last year was Turner's first year involved with the Memory Walk. She served as Media Chair promoting all the events leading up to and including the walk. She replaces Co-Chairs Myra Byars and Debbie McCraw who made last year's Gaffney event the most successful to date, raising more than $20,000.
"After the success of last year's events, I have a lot to work toward. But with the help of such a great committee, I am confident this year can be as successful, if not more successful, than last year. I am honored to serve as Chair and look forward to the challenge," said Turner.
The 2006 Alzheimer's Memory Walk Committee met March 27th at Ryan's Steak House to kick off this year's event. Anyone interested in volunteering on the Committee is welcome. The group meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month in the private dining room of Ryan's Steak House.
