Daniel T. Regan
Construction manager
with many of South's
largest companies
Daniel T. Regan, born Jan. 4, 1917, in Buffalo, N.Y., died Monday, March 27, 2006, in Hendersonville, N.C.
Mr. Regan was the widower of Opal Kiser Regan and son of the late Thomas J. and Alice Tigue Regan who resided in Erie, Pa. He was an active member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church in Asheville, N.C.
Mr. Regan was a veteran of World War II and a member
of VFW Post No.
3447. He was a past
president of the Spartanburg Chapter of American Business Club, the AMBUCS. He was a major construction manager with many of the South's largest construction companies, including Rust Engineering & Construction Co., Birmingham, Ala.; E.I. Dupont, Savannah River Plant, S.C.; Daniel Construction Company, Greenville; J.A. Jones Construction Company, Charlotte; and the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Hyattsville, Md., from which he retired on Jan. 1, 1979.
Mr. Regan attended the University of South Carolina and received his real estate broker license for North Carolina and South Carolina in 1981. He was mechanical engineering consultant at the IBM Charlotte, N.C., project near University Park from 1982 until 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Regan; two grandsons, Joseph S. Keenan Jr. and Dustin T. Keenan, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Margaret Schlaudecker of Silver Spring, Md., and Helen R. Dudenhoefer of Vero Beach, Fla.; two nieces, Diane Huffman of Gaffney and Gerry Pitchford of Ellenboro, N.C.; and a nephew, Tim Biggerstaff of Charleston Heights.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday at 2 p.m at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with an interment service at 3 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Father Francisco Cruz will officiate.
They family will receive friends at the cemetery following the interment service and at other times they will be at their respective home.
