H.B. Robertson, Jr. after 50 years of service Henry Bascomb Robertson, Jr., 84, of 503 Wylie St., went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2006, at his residence. A native of Gaffney, he was the widower of M i l d r e d McDaniel Robertson and son of the late Henry Bascomb Robertson Sr. and Mattie Martha Jones Robertson. He was retired from Musgrove Mills after 50 years of service and was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher for 16 years. Mr. Robertson was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and was recipient of the Purple Heart. Surviving are a son, Henry Keith Robertson and his wife, Thelma Carroll Robertson, of Gaffney; a sister, Emmie Wright of Gaffney; three grandsons, Buddy Robertson and his wife. Monica, of Pacolet, Jeff Robertson and his wife, Melissa, of Blacksburg and Timmy Robertson, also of Blacksburg; seven great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a special nephew, Lyman Robertson and his wife, Ann, of Georgia; and a host of friends and relatives. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Interim Hospice, Elizabeth Logan and everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wofford Caughman and the Rev. Charlie Wilborn officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the South Carolina State Guard, 2nd Brigade Honors Team.
