Indians come alive after break The Gaffney High boys' soccer team finally got things to click in the second half against York on Thursday. The Indians broke a scoreless halftime tie with four unanswered second-half goals to down the visiting Cougars, 4-0. "We just settled down in the second half," Gaffney coach Frank Riddlehoover said. "We passed the ball better in the second half." Phillip Lester had two goals while Justin Harris and Jarrod Bridges added one each for the Indians, who improve to 8-5-1 overall and 3-3 in the region. Harris had two assists and Matt Skinner had one for Gaffney. Andrew Wheeler started in goal and recorded five saves. Zac Woods replaced Wheeler in the second half and was credited with a save. Gaffney will be off for spring break next week before returning to action against Union on Tuesday, April 4. |
