Hospital to provide stop smoking classes
Upstate Carolina Medical Center will offer a free stopsmoking program in April 2006. The "Freshstart" program consists of four onehour group sessions that take place twice a week for two weeks. The next program will be held on April 18, 20, 25, and 27, which are Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-7 p.m. in the hospital's Classroom. The classes will be taught by Kim McKnight, RRT.
The American Cancer Society's "Freshstart" program helps participants stop smoking by providing them with all of the essential information and strategies needed to direct their own efforts at stopping. Participants are encouraged to apply what they learn in "Freshstart" to other aspects of their lives.
Anyone who would like to attend should contact CardioPulmonary Director Shannon Wylie at 487-1586.
