Former security guard

with Hamrick's

Willie Eugene Phillips, 78, formerly of West Wind Apartments, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Brookview Nursing Home.

A native of Gaffney, he was the son of the late John David (Duff) Phillips and Mary Eva (Mollie) Brown Phillips. He was

a former security

guard with Hamrick's

and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy Phillips, Carl Phillips, Johnny Phillips and J. C. Phillips; and four sisters, Mary Phillips, Katie Jamison, Nellie Davis and Lorene Davis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
