SPARTANBURG - Christine Eaker Turner, 83, of 139 Pine Grove Manor, died Saturday, April 29, 2005, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born Jan. 22, 1923, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Buren and Estelle Hughey Eaker and widow of Edward Lee Turner. She was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg, where she was a member of the All About Christ Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie T. Turner and husband, Dennis, of Gaffney; a son, Duane L. Turner and wife, Bootsie, of Spartanburg; a sister, Violet Powell and husband, Joe, of Cowpens; three granddaughters, Lora T. Godfrey and husband, Bill, of Spartanburg, Ivey T. Martin and husband, Charlie, of Gaffney and Ashlie T. Brackins and husband, Harley of Gaffney; two great-granddaughters, Maddison and Morgan Godfrey, both of Spartanburg; and two greatgrandsons, Gage and Graham Martin, both of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by five brothers, Troy, Hugh (Hootie), Billy, J.W. and S.B. Eaker.

Visitation will be from 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet and the Rev. Jackie Mullinax. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Dr. Clarence Littlejohn

Dr. Clarence Grover Littlejohn, 79, of Los Angeles, Calif., died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, in Corona, Calif.

Services will be held Saturday, May 6, at noon at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church in Gaffney. The family is at the home of his niece, Elaine Fields, in Gaffney.

Matthew Lee Owens

Services for Matthew Lee Owens, 47, of Apt. 603, Ivey Wood Apartments, 112 Martin Lane, will be held today at 3 p.m. at Allen Temple C.M.E. Church, conducted by the Revs. Ervin L. Hannah Jr., Brenda Dawkins and Chaplain Christal Champion. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Dover, Daryle Littlejohn, Donnie Ray Littlejohn, Dewayne Muhammad, Larry Ratchford and Tommie Works.

Flower bearers will be Teresa Dowdle, Selena Haney, Karen Jeter, Judy Knots, Teresa Littlejohn, Jannette Smith, Mary Williams and Donna Wilson.
