ELLENBORO, N.C. - Bobby Delano Godfrey, 67, of 159 Harris Drive, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at his home.

A native of Cherokee

County, he was

the husband of Frankie Scoggins Godfrey and son of the late John Jerry and Bessie Ruppe Godfrey. He was a retired truck driver and member of Walls Baptist Church. He also was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Frankie Lanita Causby of Ellenboro; a brother, Wayne Godfrey of Gaffney; two sisters, Belvie Sparks of Gaffney and Elaine Lewis of Shelby; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Walls Baptist Church with pastor Jimmy Black officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church.
