A Gaffney man used his prosthetic arm and a handgun to threaten a woman Friday, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states.

Wilbur Adlai Durham, 36, of 148 River Tree Road, Gaffney, is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

He remains at the Cherokee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

The 35-year-old woman told Deputy J.P. Manning that Durham returned home at 4:35 p.m. after being away for several days and began threatening to hit her with his prosthetic arm, which has a hook on the end of it, the report states.

Durham produced a pistol and chased the woman out of the home and then back inside, according to the report.

The woman locked herself in a bathroom and called police.

Tracking dogs from the Cleveland County (N.C.) Sheriff's Office helped deputies find a hat, jacket and sunglasses authorities believe might belong to a man who entered the Hickory Point convenience store in Blacksburg at 1:15 a.m. Saturday and demanded money, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states.

A clerk told Sgt. Todd Parker, who responded to the store at 2806 E. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, that a white man wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, a black coat and sunglasses came into the store with a gun and demanded money.

The woman told the gunman he was being recorded on a surveillance camera and he then ran out of the store.

The dogs located the items in a nearby wooded area, said sheriff's office spokeswoman Leigh Caldwell.

Police are searching for a black man who allegedly robbed the Pop's Corner convenience store at 2901 Union Hwy., Gaffney, at gunpoint at 11 p.m. Monday, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states. The man is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, and was wearing a black hooded shirt and a blue and white bandanna, the report states.

The man entered the store, produced a small silver handgun, and told everyone to get "face down," according to the report. He told a clerk to fill a bag with money, police said.

A Gaffney man led police on a pursuit when a deputy tried to stop his vehicle near 6th Street and 2nd Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a police report.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Trip Hartman has charged Arthur Shane Littlejohn Sr., 54, of 114 McArthur St., Gaffney, with failure to stop for a blue light, driving under the influence and open container violation.

Nitrogen cylinders were stolen from a storage unit belonging to Upstate Carolina Medical Center, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states.

Someone gained entry into the storage unit at 1530 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, by cutting off a padlock between 2 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the report states.

A woman required stitches after an alleged altercation at Benna's, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states.

Officer Tommy Kennedy of the Gaffney Police Department charged Susan Rogers, 28, of 181 Rosa Road, Cowpens, with assault and battery at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The alleged victim, who is from Gaffney, told police she and Rogers "had words" earlier in the evening, the report states.

Rogers is accused of striking the Gaffney woman as the Gaffney woman exited a bathroom, according to the report.

The Gaffney woman, who had a cut above her left eye, told police Rogers used a beer bottle to hit her, but police could not corroborate the claim, according to the report.

Gaffney police have accused a local woman of choking another woman until she became unconscious, according to a warrant at the Gaffney Police Department.

Detective Sgt. Ron Ramsey has charged Michelle McGaha, 42, of 316

Sycamore St., Gaffney, with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Police said the incident occurred at 218 Sycamore St., Gaffney, on April 28.

A Gaffney man is accused of using another person's ATM debit card without permission.

Detective Billy Odom has charged Robert Wayne Humphries II, 20, of 139 Ashmore Ave., with financial transaction card fraud.

Humphries is accused of using the First Piedmont Federal debit card at various locations to withdraw money totalling more than $3,000, according to a warrant at the Gaffney Police Department.
