Two arrested after man shot outside restaurant
Two Gaffney men were arrested following a shooting outside Bronco's restaurant at 1014 Floyd Baker Blvd. at approximately 11 p.m. Friday.
Detective Sgt. Ron Ramsey of the Gaffney Police Department has charged 20year-old Preston M. Kesler of 107 Lincoln Drive with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Kesler remains at the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. He was arrested at the scene of the shooting.
Officer Johnny Miller of the Gaffney Police Department has charged 27year-old Cody Tiron Ussery of 205 Camellia Circle with possession of marijuana.
When police arrived at the restaurant they noticed Ussery was behind a vehicle throwing marijuana onto the parking lot, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states.
Moments later, two Blacksburg men arrived in a 2002 gray Dodge pickup. One of the men was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. The other man in the pickup told police Kesler shot his friend and was trying to shoot at him, according to the report.
Police said the pickup had at least three bullet holes.
A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Police recovered approximately four grams of marijuana from Ussery's pants pocket and off the parking lot, according to the report.
