Champion cowboys and cowgirls of the Southern States Professional Rodeo Association will be competing in the 19th annual Bar H Championship Rodeo and Country Festival today, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, at the Bar H Arena in Boiling Springs, N.C. The rodeo begins at 8 p.m.

Past and current rodeo event champions will be competing on award winning livestock, including the current Bucking Bull of the Year, Angel Maker, who has been unridden for four years.

Also featured will be former bucking bull of the year, Pitch Fork. Current bucking horse of the year, Mambo King, will make the cowboys work hard for a qualified ride.

Also appearing in the bronc riding will be former bucking horses of the year, Lying Tattletale, Spittin Kitten, Pecos Bill, and Bamboo Sue. The quality of the livestock will assure the contestants of a great chance to make high point rides.

A country festival begins at 6 p.m. prior to the rodeo and has something for everyone. It is included in the admission price.

The Flint Hill Baptist Church youths will handle the main concessions.
