Alma J. Allen Retired from Celanese

Alma Johnson Allen, 70, of 127 Elizabeth Road, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Shelby, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ellis Johnson and the late Elizabeth Petty Johnson. She was retired from Celanese and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Roy Allen Jr. of Gaffney; a daughter, Vickie Richards of Shelby; three sisters, Ruth Norman of Gaffney, Mary Drewery of Shelby and Ruby Stowe of Georgia; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at ShufordHatcher Chapel, downtown location, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Toney. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Corbett Richards, Adam Richards, Rick Richards, Mike Morris, Eric Mann and Bobby Hopper Jr.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home, downtown location.

Family members are at their respective homes.
