SHELBY - Services for Essie Jefferies Hoey, 83, of 821 Jefferson St., formerly of 329 Third St., Gaffney, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Phila-delphia Baptist Church in Gaffney, conducted by the Revs. Danny Burnside and John Wilkins and Dr. Larry J. Brooks. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 2:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Darnell Ester, Alvin Smith, Howard Bonner, Don Baker and the deacons and trustees of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Flower bearers will be Leslie Hollis, Dora Smith, Annie Lipscomb, Evelyn Goudelock, Rebecca Mitchem, Sarah Withworth and members of the Women's Ministry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Hogue, Horace Craig and David Johnson.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Edna Craig, 821 Jefferson St., Shelby, and at the home of her son, Ulyses Hoey, 301 Granite Drive, Gaffney.
