The Limestone women's lacrosse team will be trying to accomplish something the other three national semifinalists already have win a national championship.

The Lady Saints will go for their first ever national championship this weekend at Lisle, Ill., in the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championships.

The No. 6-ranked Lady Saints play No. 3-ranked West Chester in a semifinal on Saturday at 2 p.m. C.W. Post and Adelphi will meet in the other semifinal.

The winners will meet for the national championship on Sunday at noon. The game will be broadcast on CSTV.

Adelphi won the championship in 2004, while West Chester claimed the title in 2002. C.W. Post took home the crown in 2001.

Limestone, which claimed the CVAC's regular and postseason titles, enters this weekend with an impressive 16-3 mark, including wins over nationally-ranked conference opponents Pfeiffer and Queens.

West Chester is making its fifth appearance in the championship game and is 4-0 in national semifinal games.

In the teams' last meeting, West Chester eliminated the Lady Saints from the 2004 national tournament with a 23-12 victory. West Chester has beaten the Lady Saints in the teams' other two meetings.
