CITIZENSHIP AWARD

- Will Byars, a fifth grader at Grassy Pond Elementary,

was chosen recently as a recipient of the Governor's

Citizenship Award for his

school. Will also received the Governor's Essay Writing

Award for his essay,

"Playing by the Rules." He is the son of Greg and Tena Byars of Gaffney and has a sister, Taylor. His grandparents are Horace and Linda

Wilson and James and

Becky Hill, all of Gaffney.

Will was presented his award by Gov. Mark Sanford

in Columbia, where he toured the State House and

enjoyed a picnic on the grounds with his family.
