Musgrove Mill will host program on frontier riflemen CLINTON - Musgrove Mill State Historic Site will be presenting "The Frontier Rifleman - Myth and Reality" on Saturday, May 20. This living history program will focus on the legend of frontier riflemen during the American Revolution and their rules in the South Carolina Backcountry at such battles as Musgrove's Mill. The program will include a demonstration and discussion of the clothing and equipment used by frontier riflemen, how riflemen were used in battle, and a demonstration of how flintlock rifles were loaded and fired. The demonstrations will take place near the Visitors' Center at Musgrove Mill State Historic Site and will be held on the hour from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The program is free with a paid daily admission. Musgrove Mill State Historic Site is located at 398 State Park Road off of S.C. 56 between Clinton and Cross Anchor. |
