The Cherokee County Consolidated Animal Shelter will hold an open house from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

"My goal is to adopt every single animal out of that shelter, so that, for once, we have an empty shelter," said local chiropractor Dr. Hillary Mower. "Come down, see the improvements that have been made to the shelter and if you have any inkling to adopt a dog or cat, now is the time."

The shelter is located at 300 Yale Street, which can be accessed from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, or at the intersection of Granard and Logan streets.
