Student at Blacksburg Middle School

BLACKSBURG - Bryant Jay Lawter, 14, of 104 Hopewell Ridge Road, died Monday, May 22, 2006, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of J.H. Lawter Jr. of the home and Teresa Diane Woodrum of Gaffney. He was a student at Blacksburg Middle School and a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Brandon Buck Lawter of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Brandi Lawter of the home; maternal grandmother, Florence Revelle of Boiling Springs; and several nieces and nephews, Elijah Jay Lawter, Trinity McKenna, Sianna Dawn Lawter, all of the home, Angel Marie Lawter of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kaitlyn Dawn Lawter of Spartanburg.

Services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Brian Harris. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family is at the home of his father, 104 Hopewell Ridge Road, Blacksburg, and at the home of his mother, 112 Piney Knob Road, Gaffney.
