Vera B. Ayers

Vera Ellen Brown Ayers, 75, of 632 Macedonia Road, died Friday, May 19, 2006, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Concord Township, Erie County, Pa., she was the widow of Claude Merle Ayers and daughter of the late Roy Brown and the late Mildred V. Brown Brown. She was a homemaker and member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses of Gaffney and Corry, Pa.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Ayers Williams Green of Gaffney; three sons, Dennis Ayers of Columbus, Pa., Rodney Ayers of Erie, Pa., and Barry Ayers of Wattsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Amanda Gardner of Corry, Pa., Doris Clark of Meadville, Pa., and Carole Jewell of Corry, Pa.; a brother, Louis Brown of Spartansburg, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence Howard Brown, Donald Brown and Larry Brown.

A memorial service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses in Gaffney, conducted by Elder Earl Buckson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses, 145 Twin Bridge Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341; of Gibbs Regional Cancer Center, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare, Oncology Department, 101 E. Wood St., Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
