Three candidates vie for BPW seats
Three candidates will square off for Board of Public Works commissioner Brenda Earls' seat.
City officials said Warren Bonner, Fred Keller and Alice Nance submitted their petitions by last Thursday's noon deadline.
To qualify, the candidates must obtain signatures from 100 registered voters who live in the city.
Earls' seat is the only one on the ballot. She announced earlier this year she would not seek re-election.
Keller is a former Board of Public Works Electrical Department superintendent. He is currrently employed part-time by the utility but would have to relinquish that job if elected.
Nance is a long-time employee with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.
Bonner is a local businessman.
