James "Pete" Mabry
Retired from grocery business
James Y. "Pete" Mabry, 78, of 500 Browning Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Gaffney, he was the widower of Nell K. Mabry and son of the late Andrew and Gladys McCraw Mabry. He was retired from the grocery business after more than 50 years of service and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Mabry was a veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving are a
son, Robert P. Mabry and his wife, Esther, of Pueblo, Colo.; a daughter, Nancy Cunningham of Florida; four grandchildren, Andy Mabry, Kyle Mabry, Christina Mabry and Robin Pfeifer; and four great-grandchildren.
Special thanks and much love to Aunt Alda Osment and her children, Uncle Ray Mabry and his children, and special friends, the Elliott family, for all of their love and generosity.
The family wishes to thank the area medical community for all their care and concern.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. M.B. Morrow Jr.
