BELMONT, N.C. - Janelle Henderson Lanier, 86, of 5037 Drennan Horne Road, died Saturday, May 27, 2006, in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. A native of Gaffney, she was the widow of Wilkes Eugene Lanier and daughter of the late John Henderson and the late Lula Patterson Henderson. Mrs. Lanier was a retired textile employee and a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church in Gaffney. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Bonita L. Lull of Charlotte; a son, Arnold Dean Lanier of Belmont; three brothers, Dean Henderson of Houston, Texas, Arthur Henderson of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Donald Henderson of Mayo; and a sister, Rosie Dyke of Mayo. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Eugene Lanier; two sisters, Jessie Scruggs and Sue Sanders; and a brother, Fred Henderson. Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at ShufordHatcher Chapel at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Rich Lancaster. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens and at other times family members will be at their respective homes.
